The adidas Head Guard with Face Shield pairs WT approved dipped foam headgear with a clear polycarbonate face mask, so taekwondo athletes can drill and spar with the face covered as well as the head. Vent perforations let heat escape during long sessions, and hook-and-loop chin and back straps hold the guard in place and adjust quickly between rounds.

  • WT approved dipped foam: The NBR foam construction carries World Taekwondo approval for head protection.
  • Removable clear mask: The lightweight polycarbonate shield deflects stray strikes and leaves your view of your partner open.
  • Airflow channels: Perforations through the foam move heat out during intense training.
  • Elastic and hook-and-loop straps: The chin and back straps tighten to a snug fit and release easily.

The mask version suits athletes returning from a facial injury and coaches who want extra protection while beginners learn to spar.

Before you train: Combat sports involve a risk of injury. Review our Boxing & Headgear Warning

adidas Head Guard with Face Shield

Taekwondo head protection with the face covered

The guard is molded from dipped NBR foam and carries World Taekwondo approval. A clear polycarbonate mask sits in front of the face, so a stray kick or punch meets the shield first while you keep a clear view of your partner. This model is also CE approved.

Who is the face shield version for?

Athletes returning from a facial injury, and coaches who want extra protection on beginners while they learn to spar.

How do I get a secure fit?

Close the hook-and-loop chin and back straps until the guard sits firmly without slipping. The straps open quickly, so you can readjust between rounds.

Can I compete in it?

The head guard is World Taekwondo approved. Confirm your event's rules on face masks before you enter.

White helmet with face mask, Adidas taekwondo sparring gear.

Straps that adjust between rounds

Elastic and hook-and-loop straps at the chin and back pull the guard snug and open quickly.
