Match the gear to where you are in the sport:

• Beginner and club training: the student uniform ($35 to $45) or the adi-Start uniform, a white belt, and Adi-Kick 2 shoes. Light, affordable, and built for class.
• Poomsae (forms): a dedicated Poomsae uniform, with youth, men's, and women's options from about $99 to $120, cut for clean form lines.
• Sparring (kyorugi): World Taekwondo approved protective gear. Start with a sparring gear set ($269 to $290) that bundles head guard, chest guard, forearm and shin guards, then add WT approved fighter gloves and foot protectors.
• Competition and Olympic level: the Eco Fighter WT approved uniform ($99.97) or the Seungri Olympic uniform ($379 to $399), paired with WT approved sparring gear.
• Shoes: the Adi-Kick 2 ($55.77) for everyday training, or the Contestant Pro laceless ($77.97) for a lighter, quicker feel on the mat.
• Belt: solid color belts for ranking, plus embroidered black belts ($25 to $46) once you grade.

• Doboks follow each product page's size chart by height. Size up if you are between sizes or want shrink allowance on cotton-blend uniforms.
• Poomsae and Olympic uniforms have a more tailored cut for clean lines in forms, so check the per product chart.
• Shoes run close to true to size; the Contestant Pro laceless fits snug for a locked-in feel.
• Sparring gear sets are sized by body size, and chest guards are often reversible (red and blue) for tournament corners.
• Belts are sold by length, so match to your height and waist per the chart.

• Class and grading: student uniform, ranking belt, Adi-Kick 2 shoes.
• Forms competition: poomsae uniform.
• Sparring and tournaments: WT approved sparring set, fighter gloves, foot protectors, plus mouth and groin protection.
• Carrying gear: team and sparring bags (57 L to 60 L) and backpacks.
• Warm-up and travel: taekwondo hoodies, fleece jackets, and tracksuits.

What do I need to start taekwondo?

A uniform (dobok) and a white belt are enough to begin. Most clubs add Adi-Kick 2 shoes for mat training, and sparring gear comes later once you start sparring.

What is the difference between a student dobok and a poomsae or Olympic uniform?

The student uniform is light and affordable for class and grading. Poomsae uniforms are cut for clean form lines, and the Olympic Seungri uniform is a premium competition cut.

Is the sparring gear World Taekwondo approved?

Yes. The chest guard, foot protector, and fighter gloves listed as World Taekwondo approved are built to the spec sanctioned tournaments use; product pages note WT approval where it applies.

Which taekwondo shoes should I choose?

The Adi-Kick 2 is the everyday training shoe. The Contestant Pro laceless is lighter with a quicker feel for sparring and competition.

How much does a full taekwondo kit cost?

A starter kit (student uniform, belt, shoes) runs about $115 to $140. A sparring setup adds roughly $270 to $400 depending on the gear set and gloves.
