• Sanctioned amateur competition: the adidas Amateur Competition Headgear (about $100) is open face, with no cheek bars across your sightline, and it is approved for USA Boxing competition. It comes in red, blue, and black.
• Heavy sparring: the Full Face Protection Headgear (about $100) adds a shatter resistant face bar across the brow, nose, cheeks, and chin. The Adi-Star Pro (about $100) is genuine cowhide leather with padded ear protection and a lace up back for a tighter, more custom fit.
